ASTORE: With roads blocked due to heavy snowfall cutting of supplies from Rawalpindi and Peshawar leading to a hike in prices of essential commodities, authorities in Astore have cracked down on profiteers. The district administration has warned shopkeepers against increasing prices and have directed them to sell goods as per the official price list. Astore District Commissioner Rehman Shah on Thursday directed magistrates and assistant commissioner to take action against shopkeepers for not displaying price lists and selling commodities of daily use on higher rates. The DC issued these directives after receiving complaints about selling goods at inflated prices. In this regard, magistrates conducted unannounced raids and warned shopkeepers to follow the rates issued by the local government.
