BZU sub-campus scandal appears to be the biggest scam in education sector of the country

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court has summoned the Higher Education commission chairman, secretary Higher Education department and Bahauddin Zakariya University vice chancellor in a case related to the establishment of BZU’s sub-campus.

The LHC bench on Wednesday denied provincial minister Zaeem Ahmad Qadri an exemption from a personal appearance in the case regarding the legal status of the Lahore sub-campus of Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan.

Dismissing the request, Justice Syed Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi, who headed the bench, summoned higher education commission chairman, secretary higher education department and BZU vice chancellor on January 30.

The court observed that the BZU sub-campus scandal appears to be the biggest scam in education sector of the country. The advocate general of Punjab made the request on behalf of the minister.

Justice Naqvi expressed dismay over the government’s failure to respond to the concerns of the protesting students. The bench adjourned the hearing till January 30.
