KARACHI: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) claimed on Wednesday that Mayor Wasim Akhtar is crying over lack of powers while he is not focusing on his existing powers by which he can try to bring at least some change in the city. These views were expressed by PTI Karachi president Firdous Shamim Naqvi at a press conference at Insaf House on Wednesday where he said that Akhtar has no interest in working for the city. Naqvi was of the view that not all work requires funds but it requires will and planning and therefore, Akhtar could have, at the least, improved the lighting in the city, beautification of parks, and he could have taken action against the ghost employees and ghost schools but he failed. Without taking the opposition into confidence, the mayor passed a budget while whenever he requires our support he reaches out to us, said Naqvi, adding that it seemed that once again, Pakistan Peoples Party and Muttahida Qaumi Movement have made a coalition to fill their own pockets instead of serving the city.
