Lack of evidence: Anis Kaimkhani exonerated from 1994 case
Accused won his acquittal on the basis of a lack of evidence

A Hyderabad district and sessions court exonerated on Monday Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) president Anis Kaimkhani from a 1994 criminal case of riots and setting a vehicle ablaze.
Kaimkhani, who was booked under sections 324, 436 and 34 of the PPC, appeared before the judge in the courtroom. He won his acquittal on the basis of a lack of evidence.
Kunwar Naveed Jamil, Salahuddin and some other Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leaders were also nominated in the same case but they were also absolved from the case many years ago.
Talking to the media outside the court, Kaimkhani criticised MQM's local government representatives. "The mayors of Karachi and Hyderabad are crying out for powers. But why don't they use whatever authority and resources are available to them?" questioned Kaimkhani, blaming them for failure to maintain cleanliness in both cities.
