The bridge and its connecting road have been constructed at a cost of Rs219 million. The CM said that the bridge was originally constructed in 1982, therefore, its condition had deteriorated. “We have not only constructed the two lane bridge of 378 metres but have also constructed 2.14 kilometre roads from both Y-junction and Manora sides,” he said, adding that the bridge connects Karachi with Manora.
The CM claimed that he is working hard to make Karachi free from crime, encroachment and all kinds of mafias, so that the people of this city can lead peaceful and prosperous lives.
Officials who attended the ceremony included Karachi mayor Waseem Akhtar, Karachi Rear commander Admiral Farukh Ahmed, metropolitan commissioner Badar Jameel Mendhro and representatives of the local bodies.
