Wife of boxer Amir Khan came out supporting her husband on Monday over the 'sex tape' controversy, saying it was shot before they both got together and has now been leaked for ‘revenge’.

“I feel someone’s done it out of revenge... someone close to us. It's not necessarily a family member. Amir has fired a lot of people who worked for the company so it could be a worker,” Dailymail quoted Faryal Makhdoom as saying.

A video tape featuring Amir has reportedly been leaked to a major US porn site. The X-rated video allegedly shows the 30-year-old British-Pakistani boxer carrying out a sexual act while speaking to a female model from Arizona, US on Skype.

Last year, Faryal's posts on Snapchat made claims of domestic abuse; however, the claims were denied, with Amir’s parents admitting they were unhappy with her attire.

Despite the tense situation the couple has been facing lately, Amir and Faryal have agreed upon staying together.

Meanwhile, about the video, Amir said it happened well before he got married.

“Something happened a long long time ago when I was younger and it was well before my marriage and my little girl,” he said. “It upsets me because a lot of youngsters look up to me, and see me as as a role model... it’s sad. It’s a shadow on my charity work."
