PESHAWAR: Police on Sunday arrested a woman on charges of kidnapping a three-year-old girl from Qazi Kalay area of Faqirabad police station. DSP Tahir Dawar told The Express Tribune that three-year-old Samina went missing from Qazi Kalay area on January 13. Her father Zakir Ali, a taxi driver, lodged an FIR with the local police station but every effort to locate her failed initially. “Today we received a tip off about a woman in Tehkal area who had been spotted trying to soothe a crying child. We reached there and took the woman into custody,” he added. The child was kidnapped and sold to a childless couple in Tehkal. The accused woman told the family it was her daughter and she wanted to sell her, he added.
