Sustainable economic growth can only be achieved by bringing women into the economic mainstream. This was stated by Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) President Khalid Iqbal Malik at the conclusion of a three-day handicrafts and women entrepreneurs exhibition in the capital. The exhibition had been organised by ICCI in collaboration with Handicrafts Association of Pakistan (HAP).  Malik stressed that the private sector is playing a leading role in the economic development of the country and active participation of women in market-oriented business activities would help create a healthy and competitive environment. Fahad Barlas, vice-president of HAP, said that exhibition provided a platform to women entrepreneurs to showcase their products. Later, Malik and Barlas distributed certificates to staff and participating entrepreneurs.
