Google’s personal assistant is currently limited to its Pixel flagship device only. However, this might change very soon.
A new report by BusinessKorea suggests that LG may be in talks with Google to add an AI assistant to its latest range of smartphones that include the much awaited G6.
Google tries new approach with voice on Pixel phone
LG G6 smartphone is expected to be rolled out at Mobile World Congress next month and the device may feature Google Assistant.
Google released its first in house smartphone Pixel in October last year that feature a new intelligent AI Assistant to rival Apple’s Siri. Calling it “your own personal Google”, the smart assistant has been exclusive to the pixel line of smartphones so far. However, this may not remain so if LG secures rights to use the technology.
Amazon's Alexa moves in on Google's Android system
LG has also a Plan-B if it fails to convince Google, and it's called Amazon Alexa. The company already has business partnership with Amazon and uses the Alexa AI assistant in one of its smart refrigerators.
The move would be a first for Amazon and could possibly open great opportunities for Amazon in the mobile phone industry.
