Headed by Justice Syed Muhammad Farooq Shah, the two-judge bench directed the provincial law officer to file comments of the relevant authorities within two weeks.
His wife, Saadia Kazmi had approached the court seeking direction for the home and police authorities to recover her missing husband. She had named the home secretary, police IG and others as respondent.
The petitioner said her husband, who is the chairperson of the PQM, was heading home from the SHC after filing a petition against the home and local government authorities for not granting him permission to hold 'Istehkam-e-Pakistan' rally in Karachi.
She added that the unknown men had taken him away from the airport on January 17, adding that his whereabouts were still not known to the family.
The bench issued notices to the provincial law officer and respondents to file their comments within two weeks, when the matter will be taken up again.
