The BBC has denied it has opened any inquiry against the reporter who filed a news report on the ownership of Park Lane flats.

The report, filed for BBC Urdu by correspondent Athar Kazmi, had stated that the flats, which are at the centre of the ongoing Panamagate case, had been owned by the Sharif family since the 1990s. State-run APP, in a news report on Wednesday, had claimed the BBC management had opened an inquiry against Kazmi over the report.

Govt news agency claims BBC is probing 'stale' Park Lane flats report

In a statement published on BBC Urdu on Thursday, the British broadcaster said it was satisfied that Kazmi’s report on Park Lane flats lived up to its journalistic values and editorial standards, which include accuracy of information and impartiality. It denied it had opened up any internal investigation against the reporter on the story in question. BBC added that it was not contacted by any organisation to provide an explanation for the news item.
