Irked by delay: Nab chief visits new HQ site

Directs consultants and contractor to expedite work

ISLAMABAD: NAB Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry visited the under-construction site of the new office building of NAB Headquarters at Sector G-5/1 Islamabad to review the progress and inspect the quality of work.

During the briefing, he was apprised by Chief Engineer (N), Pak PWD that the pace of work had been increased in light of his directions after his last visit.

The fixing of granite, exterior glass and floor tiles are under process. The pace of work on external development along with internal finishes like the false ceilings and PVC panelling. has also been increased. Machinery including generators, elevators, and HVAC system has been arranged and is in transit.

The NAB chief expressed his concern over the delay in the completion of the project and emphasised on making all out efforts for its early completion. He further observed that the pace of work was as far less than the required to meet the timelines.

Chaudhry directed the PWD DG, consultants, and the contractor to complete the remaining work without further delay and ensure all quality standards in accordance with rules.

He stressed that there should be no compromise on the quality of material and execution of work.
