The art gallery was inaugurated by the UAF Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan the other day. He was flanked by Community College Principal Dr Ijaz Ahmad Bhatti, Dr Ashfaq Maan and other notables.
The paintings were developed by UAF artists Muhammad Asif and Javeria Baig. The agricultural field, machinery and practices were themed in the painting that attracted the art lovers to have a glimpse of the art of rural landscape.
While addressing the participants, Dr Iqrar Ahmad said the university was meant for uplift of the agriculture sector and rural development.
He said the sector contributes 21% to the Gross Domestic Product. He said the paintings would help the young generation to understand the evolution of the sector.
He added the university was making all out efforts to ensure the quality of education and address the problems of the farming community with tangible researches and other factors.
The VC maintained, “There is the need to work on the mindset of the people in order to the face the challenges of the modern era.” He said a new state-of-the-art building would be established soon at UAF.
Similarly, Dr Ijaz Ahmad Bhatti said the UAF was providing quality education to the people at minimum fee compared to the rest of the institutions.
He said in the second phase of paintings exhibition, the Community College will be decorated to throw light on rural life in colours.
Meanwhile, Dr Izhar Ahmad, Assistant Prof Kashif Shakeel, Dr Masood Iqbal, Dr Iftikahr Ahmad, Kahsif Hameed and others also spoke on the occasion.
