Road accident: 25 injured in Ghotki bus-car collision

Victims included 20 school-going children

SUKKUR: At least 25 people, including 20 school-going children, were injured when a coaster van, which was carrying students from Ghotki, collided head on with a car at the Ghotki-Adilpur Road Wednesday afternoon.

The Ghotki-Adilpur Road was closed on Wednesday for traffic for one hour due to the protocol of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah who had gone to Khangarh to condole the death of the Sindh sports minister's mother.

After the road was opened for traffic, a coaster carrying students from a private school of Ghotki, on its way to Khanpur, collided head on with a car that was on its way to Pano Aqil from Ghotki.

As a result, around 25 people including 20 students were injured and shifted to Ghotki taluka hospital for treatment.

The students with minor injuries were sent home after provision of first aid while those who suffered severe injuries were admitted.

The critically injured people were identified as Shivam Kumar, a student of class five, Falak, a student of class seven, Parshad, also a student of class 5, coaster driver Mohammad Hashim and others.
