Sydney, after winning the toss, sent Adelaide in to bat first and the latter, riding on the back of Ben Dunk’s 65 off 40 balls courtesy five boundaries and three maximums, scored 178-5 in 20 overs.

Kieron Pollard also contributed an important 47 off just 22 balls with the help of five sixes. Shane Watson was Sydney’s best bowler with two wickets off his four overs.
In reply, Sydney couldn’t cope with the pressure of a high-run chase and succumbed to Sodhi’s leg-break deliveries. Only two Sydney batsmen – Kurtis Patterson (29) and Shane Watson (39) – entered doubles figures while the whole team was sent packing for 101 in 15.3 overs.

Man-of-the-Match Ish Sodhi was satisfied with his performance. "I was pretty gutted that I couldn't win it for the boys in the last couple of games, but to finish on a high here is satisfying,” he said in the post-match presentation ceremony.
He added that he wanted to inspire the team earlier in the tournament. “This was a dead rubber match, but a massive shout-out to the Strikers, they've rejuvenated my love for the game over the last 8-10 days. I really wish I could have done this a lot earlier.”
