DERA GHAZI KHAN: A man was arrested for raping a woman in Dera Ghazi Khan on Friday.

A police official told The Express Tribune that Abida Parveen, a resident of Sahiwal, used to work as a maid in a house. He added the victim decided to visit her hometown and reached the railway station along with her two children to buy tickets. However, the station manager told her that the train would depart for Sahiwal the next morning.

As her employer’s home was situated at a long distance, therefore Abida decided to stay in a local hotel for the night.

She rented a room in the hotel and was sleeping with her children when accused Jandi and Tanveer barged into the room and raped her. After committing the heinous offence the culprits fled the scene.

The victim registered an FIR at the police station. Later, the police claimed to have arrested an accused involved in the incident.

Earlier in 2016, a man sexually assaulted a girl in the limits of Saddar police station. Muhammad Hashim kidnapped A* while she was returning home from college.

The suspect raped the girl and when she fell unconscious he fled the scene.
