Clash at Peshawar jail injures 9

PESHAWAR: Six prisoners and three policemen were injured in a clash between the jail administration and prisoners of Central Jail Peshawar.

Tensions in the prison mounted as jail administrators started searching the prisoners. As a result, heavy contingents of police, along with tear gas and aeriel firing was used to disperse the protesters.

Moreover, Jail road was closed for all kinds of vehicles. Interestingly, talking to the media, IG prison, Tanveer ul Haq Sapra denied all injuries and assured strict action will be taken against those responsible.
