Preserving nature: Adopt scientific forest conservation, says Haider

He also directed the forest department to take measures for conservation of forests on scientific basis

Study to help form strategies for sustainable protection, conservation.

Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan on Wednesday directed AJK forest department to adopt scientific means in vogue in developed countries for forest conservation.

He expressed these views while chairing a meeting in Muzaffarabad about upcoming tree plantation drive in Azad Kashmir, Radio Pakistan reported.

The AJK government is taking tangible measures to promote tourism industry in the state, he said.

Haider said the natural beauty of forests is the main attraction for tourists. Conserve forests if you want tourism to thrive, he asserted.

He said all out efforts would be made to make upcoming tree plantation campaign successful.

The AJK prime minister directed the concerned authorities to take all departments, educational institutions and civil society on-board in this regard.

He also directed the forest department to take measures for conservation of forests on scientific basis.

AJK Forest Minister Sardar Mir Akbar, Chief Secretary Sikandar Sultan Raja and Secretaries of relevant departments were also present on the occasion.
