Wahab's son's kidnapping attempt foiled

Attempt to kidnap Fauzia Wahab's son foiled after kidnappers' vehicle runs out of fuel.

KARACHI: An attempt to kidnap Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Fauzia Wahab's son was foiled when the kidnappers' vehicle ran out of fuel.

Speaking to Express 24/7, Wahab said that unidentified men kidnapped her son Barrister Murtaza Wahab from the Karsaz area of Karachi and they were taking him towards Sohrab Goth, but they ran out of fuel, after which they left her son and the vehicle near the United Bank Ltd (UBL) Complex and fled.

The former PPP information secretary further said the kidnappers took her son's cell phone, cash and other valuables.

Relevant police officials have not made any statement regarding this kidnapping attempt.

Qamer | 13 years ago | Reply Murtuza Wahab kidnapped. An Angel Called the tracker company and informed them about his kidnapping .. car ran out of fuel or the jammers blocked it. The kidnappers leaves the victim and fled.And yeah the climax.. Murtaza starts the out of fuel car again and drives back home, "Mom I am safe"... Well plotted story MS Wahab . But since we have already been through the eye opener process after voting you guys that probably we could pick this fabricated drama quite early. I will recommend you to try some thing else.

Guys u know that its not a good sign....we should step out....See its happening everyday for every one...all over the country...ISnt it....but its not about laughing on others...But laughing over these politicians who are given the authority to control all of it....they are having powers....if it is happening with them then its fun.....it is like you are SHO in an area and someone steal your mobile in your area.....well when it will happen then may be SHO will wake up.....or wil leave that area.....So now Miss fozia i really respect her.....may woke up....and could feel the pain of others.... who had such problem already....she might raised her voice against it or she will ask her son to leave the country and go away,,,,this is where we lack that son of rich could flee out of country in crunh time...however the poor cant go...so poor could see this pain and then he laugh...which is wrong but he has no toher option....please comment on it......suggest am i right or not

GH: The Tracker device is for the car. When a car is approaching an area which is considered "out of area" for the car, the tracker jams the car and then calls the owner to confirm if it is him or he has authorized the movement. In case they dont get the right combination or the phone is off, the car is jammed!!!! Why does everyone want to believe in a conspiracy theory???? Are there no kidnappings in Pakistan?

Aamir | 13 years ago | Reply @Qasim.....your explanation about Tracker device makes sense.....otherwise the story had all the trappings of a "cook up".....it is really tragic that because of the fact that we see these people openly (and rather unashamedly) "lying" on all forums day in and day out, that even when such incidents happen to them, it is difficult for the public to believe them........its just the story of "cry wolf" and very unfortunate !!!........

But you know what... doesnt make a difference anymore because I think that our public has become far smarter and wiser than those of yesteryears. Vanguard | 13 years ago | Reply how can it be described as "foiled" when no attempt was made to thwart it..the attempt could have "failed".... secondly, so they were taking him through Sohrab Goth into Sind which is PPP's constituency...Had it been successful, PPP would have had a taste of its own medicine (the free hand that they have given to all the abductors and dacoits such as people's amn committee)
