HYDERABAD: Provincial Minister Zubair Ahmad Khan escaped a murder attempt when unidentified men fired shots at him outside his residence in Hyderabad on Monday.

Khan, who is a member of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), told the media that he was standing outside his residence when two unidentified motorcyclists fired shots at him. However, the minister escaped the attack as the bullets fired at him hit the wall of his house instead.

MQM condemned the attack and demanded the immediate arrest of the attackers.

Interior Minister Rehman Malik called the provincial minister and assured him of action against the attackers.

The interior minister also formed an inquiry comprising the DG Rangers and Hyderabad RPO to investigate the incident.
