LAHORE: The CJ ordered the anti-corruption court officials to immediately arrest SHO Abdul Aziz and sub-inspector Muhammad Ashraf and register FIRs under sections 365 (kidnap), 342 (wrongful detention) and 161 (for taking a bribe) against them.

The LHC Chief Justice Khawaja Muhammad Sharif gave the order in a case where a man had accused the two officials of torturing and illegally detaining him. On May 3, the CJ had broken down into tears twice while listening to a victim who was telling the judge details of his harrowing experience. Buksh, the victim, told the court that SHO Abdul Aziz and sub-inspector Ashraf, along with six policemen forcefully broke into his house.

“They took Rs175,000 in cash from my house and then they hung me by a tree all night. Then they took another Rs100,000 from my family to release me. When my brother had paid them, they told him to sell our mother and sisters to live up to his demand,” narrated the victim, sobbing before the lawyers and the judge.
