KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement MPA Mahfooz Yar Khan is nominated in two criminal cases registered against him under the anti-terrorism and loud speaker act's violation and other charges, the Karachi police chief told the Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday.

The court had called a report from Karachi AIG Mushtaq Mahar on a petition filed by Khan, who had approached the court seeking details of cases registered against him.

He had alleged that police had started a crackdown against the MQM and they were implicating them in blind cases to harass them. He said the police had implicated several party leaders in false cases. He apprehended his arrest in such cases. Therefore, a direction was sought for the police officials to disclose details of cases registered against him. On Thursday, the petitioner went over Mahar's report and said he was satisfied with it. The two-judge bench disposed of the petition.
