Twitter Alert: Preity Zinta tired of paparazzi

Preity Zinta is tired of dealing with the paparazzi that, she says, have no respect for the celebrities.

Unlike her fellow actor Shilpa Shetty who was “at peace” after her visit to Shirdi recently, Preity Zinta has returned with unpleasant memories of being pushed and cajoled by media in the pilgrim town. She is obsessing about this on her Twitter page.

“Good morning! Went to Shirdi yesterday and came back with memories of media pushing me instead of the serene face and energy of Sai Baba,” an irritated Zinta posted on her Twitter page.

The 36-year-old actor is quite displeased with the mad rush for celebrities even at a place of pilgrimage and is upset that she couldn’t even pray privately.

“I wonder why our temples have become so commercial? Why must a temple trustee’s urge to be photographed with a celebrity be entertained by media? In front of God, we bare ourselves and look to purify our soul. Instead of feeling uplifted, I came back feeling sad and deprived from Shirdi.

“In the rut to make anything news, have we forgotten to respect god and genuine devotion? I fold my hands to the media and request them to respect us and respect God. Not every celebrity goes to a temple for tamasha (show). Some genuinely go to pray and to disturb them then is bad karma,” she added.

Preity has been off the big screen for some time now. Her last full-fledged role was in Heroes in 2008.

While Zinta is busy settling her personal issues with the paparazzi, many other celebrities are engrossed in the ICC World Cup 2011.

If I have curves, I’m fat. If I don’t then I’m straight. If I wear makeup, I’m fake. If I dress up, I’m a show off. If I say what I think, I’m a #!@%*#. If I say nothing, I have an attitude problem. If I cry sometimes, I’m a drama queen. If I have guy friends, I’m fast. If I stand up for myself, I’m mouthy. It’s like you can’t do anything nowadays without being labeled. So what? Give a damn.

I’m making my debut as a runway model, walking in the Mugler Paris Fashion Show 3/2. I directed the show music.

It’s so sad how some women try and bring other women down or pit them against each other. We need to be elevating each other and stop hating.
