Mayor Aziz announced this while visiting Union Council-45 Jhangi Syedan on Monday.
He said that approval will also be sought for demarcation and establishment of a graveyard to serve UC-45 and four other UCs in the next Islamabad Metropolitan Corporation (IMC) meeting. He said the IMC committee on water, which is headed by Deputy Mayor Azam Khan, had been directed to start work on two tube wells to meet water requirements in Jhangi Syedan.
Aziz said that powers have been transferred to the newly-elected representatives and it was now their responsibility to play their due role in the development and beautification of the capital.
He said directions had been issued for construction streets and removal of encroachments by the elected leaders of Jhangi Syedan, adding that a sasta bazaar would also be established to provide fruits and vegetables on concessional rates.
Aziz claimed that the IMC was moving in the right direction.
He expressed hope that he and other elected representatives would make Islamabad a model city.
UC-45 Chairman Gulfaraz Khan and other elected representatives informed the mayor about problems in the area and expressed their hope that under his leadership, their problems would be addressed and the journey of development would continue in rural and urban areas of Islamabad without any discrimination.
