LAHORE: At least four people, including a minor, were killed in road accidents on the first day of the Year.

In Chung, a boy died after a fast-moving car hit him as he was playing outside his house in Eden Value society.

Police said Talha Ahmad suffered severe injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival. Police have taken the driver, Yaseen Khan, into custody and impounded his vehicle. A case was registered against the driver.

In Manawan, a man was killed while a woman and another man were injured in a hit-and-run accident.

Police said Nadeem Latif, Nasir and Rasheeda Bibi were travelling on a motorcycle when a fast-moving vehicle hit them.As a result, Nadeem died on the spot.

In Defence-A, a 32-year-old man, Muhammad Usman, died when he lost control of his car and slammed into a tree near Y-block.

In Badami Bagh, a 22-year-old motorcyclist died after crashing into a truck near Do Muriya Bridge.
