The rest puts Tanvir out of reckoning for the series against Australia, taking place in England, but a possible selection for the Test and ODI series against the hosts that follows. “I’ll be fit by July,” Tanvir told The Express Tribune. “I was eying the England series but won’t be available for selection for the earlier part of the tour.”
Pakistan play two Tests and two Twenty20s against Australia from July 5 to 25 and take on the hosts from July 29. Tanvir, who underwent knee surgery in Australia that ruled him out of selection for the World Twenty20, believes he will be fit by the first week of July. “I haven’t started bowling yet but hope to do some running from next week. I’ll hopefully be fit soon but as far as selection is concerned, I’m leaving that up to the selectors.”
Wahab Raiz, another left-arm bowler, has been declared fit after undergoing medical sessions to asses his fitness level. “I’ve recovered from my tornmuscles and have been declared fit,” said Riaz. “I’m not part of the ongoing summer camp but doing my training with the group of bowlers who are practicing at the NCA under the supervision of Aaqib Javed.”
