KARACHI: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf's (PTI) Karachi leadership has claimed that an attempt has been made on the life of their party supporter Fazal Rahim Hasanzai.

At a press conference on Tuesday, PTI deputy secretary-general Imran Ismail told media personnel at the central office demanded the chief minister and Sindh IG arrest the culprits who are trying to destabilise peace in the city.

According to Ismail, Hasanzai, who is now fighting a battle for his life in the neurological ward of Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, was going back home from a workers convention held at Insaf House on December 25 when he was targeted by unknown assailants on Sharae Faisal. Ismail added that three bullets were fired at him while he was riding his motorcycle - two missed and one bullet hit him in the head. He demanded the police begin investigating the case immediately. He further criticised the police for not registering an FIR of targeted killing.
