Aziz, who is also the CDA chairman, further directed the civic body to enhance security and improve lighting at the monument.
While visiting the monument at Shakarparian on Sunday, he said that upkeep, preservation and renovation of national buildings were not only our responsibility but a national obligation.
Aziz visited different parts of the monument and directed the concerned departments to remove wild bushes and grass from the surroundings of the monument besides trimming trees so that visitors could enjoy the scenic view of
the city.
He explained that the monument receives visitors not only from different parts of the country but also foreign dignitaries, hence all available resources must be utilised to keep the site neat and clean.
He also directed the concerned CDA officers to improve the sanitation system at the monument
Aziz was briefed about the construction of the monument and that the building was designed in a pattern which depicts all the four provinces, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Federally Administrated Tribal Areas (Fata) and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Aziz also directed CDA to enhance security at the monument and improve the lighting system.
