11 Corps Commander: Lt Gen Nazir Butt takes charge

PESHAWAR: Corps Commander Peshawar Lt Gen Hidayatur Rehman handed over 11 Corps Command to the newly posted Lt Gen Nazir Ahmed Butt at a special ceremony held at the Corps Headquarters on Thursday, security sources told APP. The outgoing Lt. General Hidayat Ur Rehman would assume his new responsibilities as Inspector General Training and Evaluation at the GHQ. Lt Gen Nazir Ahmed Butt, who is from 67th PMA Long Course, prior to his new assignment, was President National Defence University Islamabad. General Butt had also commanded a division in South Waziristan as Major General. Meanwhile, the outgoing Inspector General Frontier Corps Balochistan Lt Gen Sher Afgun handed the charge of the command to the incoming Major General Nadeem Anjum in Quetta on Thursday. A ceremony was held at the FC headquarter in which Major General Sher Afgun gave a farewell speech.  (With additional input from our correspondent)
