Greens Hotel annexe burnt to ashes

Police said that the fire erupted in a room in the annexe of the hotel

ABBOTTABAD: A section of the famous Green’s hotel in Nathiagali was burnt on Wednesday evening after a fire erupted in one of the rooms, police and eyewitnesses said on Thursday.

Nathiagali police said that the fire erupted in a room in the annexe of the hotel at around 8pm on Wednesday evening. The fire quickly spread to other parts of the hotel, engulfing parts of the building, which has a largely wooden interior and roofing.

However, there were no guest staying at the hotel at the time of the fire, police and hotel administration officials said.

Firefighters from Pakistan Air Force Base Kalabagh, TMA Abbottabad, and Rescue 1122 managed to put out the inferno after four hours.
