KARACHI: The nation awaits the verdict of the Supreme Court regarding Panama leaks and expects that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will be disqualified, expressed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) deputy information secretary Naeemul Haq.

Haq was addressing a press conference on Thursday at Insaf House along with PTI MPA Khurram Sher Zaman and Dawa Khan Sabir. He said that it was upsetting how Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali postponed such an important case for a month, despite the whole nation waiting for the verdict.

He also announced that party chairperson Imran Khan will be arriving in Karachi on December 29 for a two-day visit, during which he will lay the foundation stone of the Shaukat Khanum Memorial hospital and hold party meetings.

Whatever the decision of the court will be, PTI will accept it and look forward for the general elections of 2018, said Haq, adding that PTI has started to plan its pre-election strategy for contesting on the seats of Karachi.

Nabeel Gabol has also expressed his wish to join PTI after meeting with the chairperson but Imran has left the matter to the PTI leaders in Karachi, revealed Haq.

Criticising the government for bad governance, Haq pointed out that if the Sindh government did not take the condition of Karachi seriously then soon the garbage piles will turn into garbage hills.

He demanded that the federal government should immediately release Rs100 billion for Karachi and ensure powers to the elected mayor of the city.
