Lauding the former army chief Gen (retd) Raheel Sharif's efforts in eliminating terrorism from Pakistan, Nisar said, “Gen Raheel will be remembered for his key role in war on terror as he led from the front and set examples.” Frontier Corps has rendered great sacrifices in war against terrorism, he added.

Further, referring to Pakistan-Afghanistan ties, the interior minister said after all that Pakistan has done for Afghanistan, including hosting refugees for 30 years, it must not strain the bilateral ties. “Afghanistan now must not seek support from its neighbouring country [India], against Pakistan,” he said.
