PCO judges apologise for taking oaths, CJP accepts apologies

ISLAMABAD: Retired Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar and Justice Zahid Hussain on Thursday apologised to the Supreme Court (SC) for taking oath under the Provisional Constitution Order (PCO) during Former President Pervez Musharraf's regime.

The former chief justice tendered his apology during the PCO Judges case hearing in the Apex Court, where notices of contempt were issued to the judges involved.

The Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry accepted the apologies of both judges.

He ordered that Justice Hussain be paid all his dues, which were stopped earlier by the court. However, he said no concessions would be given to Retired Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar.

The case hearing was adjourned till March 21, 2011.
