Local leadership condemns Bhatti’s assassination

Condemnations on Shahbaz Bhatti's assassination pour in from domestic leadership.

Express March 03, 2011

Prime Minister  Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani

I condemn the assassination.  Such acts will not deter the government’s resolve to fight terrorism and extremism.

PML-N MNA Muhammad Pervez Malik

I condemn Bhatti’s assassination and demand the government to arrest the killers as early as possible and award them exemplary punishment. We should respect all religions and defend their rights.

MQM chief Altaf Hussain

Bhatti’s murder should be a point to ponder for the peace loving people who believe in the principles of religious tolerance and inter faith harmony. It is a reminder of the increasing religious fanaticism.

JUI-F Secretary Information Maulana Amjad Khan

The government should unveil the hidden hands involved in Bhatti’s murder and the ‘real motives’ should be brought before the nation.  The government should arrest the killers as early as possible.

APML chairman Pervez Musharraf

The brutal assassination of the federal minister undermines the image of Pakistan throughout the world. The government should arrest the killers and build up a ‘soft image’ of the country.

Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaaf chief Imran Khan

There is a dire need to improve the law and order situation in the country.

Jamaate Islami chief Munawar Hasan

The assassination of a minister is condemnable in the strongest of terms. I suspect that the Americans may be behind the attack since the murder diverted attention from the Davis issue.

Awami National Party Senator Zahid Khan

Bhatti’s murder shows that terrorists want to destabilise the country. All political parties need to wipe out terrorism.  The challenges being faced by the country are due to the bad policies of past dictators.

Bangash | 13 years ago | Reply @Hamza Baloch Where is proof that TTP has links with "raymid davis" ? From what I read Davis was actually spying on militant groups and had GPS that linked him to militant-killing drones.
