
The Pakistani Cinema recently had 3 Bahadur: The Revenge of Baba Balaam hit the screens and prove to be an immense success and now, the filmmaker has bagged the Alfred I duPont-Columbia University Award for her Oscar-winning documentary A Girl In The River: The Price of Forgiveness.
Oscar winner Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy vows to tell untold stories

The award was established in 1942 and administered since 1968 by the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism in New York City. The Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University Award is administered in recognition of those best in broadcast, documentary and online reporting.
The winners will receive their awards in the Low Memorial Library, on January 25, 2017, at the awards’ 75th anniversary celebration.
Sharmeen won an Oscar and the American Spirit Award for Activism in the Arts from The Common Ground earlier this year.
