ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested a man who tried to obtain a US visa with the help of a fake UK visa. The suspect, Afzal Ahmed, was produced before a judicial magistrate and was sent to jail on judicial custody remand. FIA officials informed the court that the suspect submitted fake documents to US embassy in Islamabad while applying for a visa. The suspect told investigators that he had paid Rs200,000 to a Karachi-based agent Abid Mukhtar for the UK visa. FIA sought four-day physical custody remand of the suspect in order to arrest Mukhtar. The court, however, turned down the request and sent the suspect to jail.
