Five-day exercise: Anti-polio drive in Pindi from Monday

The DCO said Rawalpindi, due to its key geographical location, was very prone to polio virus

RAWALPINDI: A five-day polio vaccination drive will start from Monday, Rawalpindi DCO Talat Mahmood Gondal said on the launching ceremony of the exercise on Saturday at Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI).

He said the anti-polio drive would continue from Monday to Friday (December 19-23) in the Rawalpindi district.

Although no case has been reported from Punjab so far this year, the DCO said, 18 cases of poliovirus attack had been reported from across the country increasing the need to be more vigilant against the crippling disease.

The DCO said Rawalpindi, due to its key geographical location, was very prone to polio virus.
