LAHORE:
A renowned stage comedian has gone to court seeking a case against seven suspects, including a close friend, accusing them of stealing two cheques, cash, important documents and other articles from his car.

Tariq Teddy has moved the district and sessions court against a car upholsterer and his suspected accomplices for stealing Rs25,000 in cash, two cheques and some important documents from the dashboard of the actor’s car.

Additional district and sessions judge Ijaz Ahmed Bosal had sought detailed comments from Iqbal Town SHO.

The petitioner submitted that he enjoyed good relations with upholsterer Farrukh and handed him over his car for repairs a few ago.

But the suspect along with Amjad Ali and Sakhawat Ali among others stole valuables, including blank cheques, from the car.

Farrukh, he alleged, gave the cheques to his relatives, who tried to withdraw money with forged signs but failed to do so.

The actor then got an FIR registered against them and the suspects promised to return his cheques and other articles.

They later started threatening the victim with death for demanding the stolen things back.

He then approached the area SHO to register a case against the suspects for not returning the stolen items and giving death threats.

In his comments, the Iqbal Town SHO submitted that both parties had been called to the station on December 19 and a detailed report would be submitted after investigation.

The court has fixed December 22 to hear the detailed comments.

Tariq told The Express Tribune that the suspects had returned one cheque but were not giving back the
other one.
