This was stated by Abdul Mujeeb Usmani while launching his Urdu language book “Khof-e-Khuda” (Fear of God) at the Salman Postgraduate College in Nawanshehr on Wednesday afternoon. The book cites Islamic references of governance and lifestyle of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and his companions on running the affairs of a state and dealing with the public.
“The prevailing situation in the country was the result of forced exemptions that the rulers were enjoying and the general public was bearing the brunt of their wrong doings in the shape of suicides and natural calamities,” Usmani added.
He added that there was no available reference in Islamic history or among respectable societies where exemptions were granted to the rulers for their wrongdoings.
