Last rites: Junaid Jamshed’s wife laid to rest
Later, the body was taken to the graveyard at Cavalry Ground for burial

Neha Jamshed, wife of late pop star Junaid Jamshed, was laid to rest at the Cavalry Ground on Thursday.
Her funeral prayers were offered in Sector B of Askari-X. They were led by Maulana Saifullah Khalid. A huge number of people, including relatives, friends and others took part. Later, the body was taken to the graveyard at Cavalry Ground for burial.
She was among the 47 victims who were aboard PIA flight PK-661 which crashed near Havelian in Abbottabad. Her husband Junaid Jamshed also died in the crash. His funeral prayer was offered in Karachi. Neha remained the administrator of the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) women’s division. She played a pivotal role in the debut of the women’s team at the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) championship. She was not a footballer herself, but strived to introduce the sport for women in the country.
