Loadshedding will be history by 2018: PM Nawaz

Premier claims there has been no case of corruption during his rule

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday announced to eliminate loadshedding by 2018, saying power outages have already been overcome for industries.

“I am confident that the government will be able to eliminate loadshedding in 2018 so people are finally relieved of the suffering once and for all,” the premier said while addressing 40th Export Award ceremony of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) in Islamabad.

Nawaz added that not only will loadshedding come to an end but will also become cheap and accessible for the masses.

The premier said that previous governments should be inquired as to why loadshedding was allowed to surface in the first place which caused misery for the masses.

The premier further said that the backbone of terrorists also been broken. "Terrorism will soon be eradicated from the country," he said. Premier said he believed that eliminating terrorism was possible and it will soon come to an end in Pakistan.

Nawaz claimed that there has been no case of corruption during his rule. "I have never taken commission worth a rupee during the execution of projects," he said.

Criticising his political rivals, PM said people will not vote for those who want to take the reins of power by creating a chaos and unrest in the country.

"I urge the masses to ask those resorting to politics of sit-ins what good they have brought to this country," he said, adding "where is that new Pakistan which some people claimed to build in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa."

Premier reiterated that the government was standing firm to tackle the challenges facing the country and will do so with resilience.
