RAWALPINDI: Eid Miladun Nabi was celebrated with religious fervour and traditional zeal in the garrison city on Monday with several Milad processions passing through the city.

The celebrations started early in the day as local Milad committees organised processions consisting of vehicles decorated with colorful flags, boards, and models of holy mosques in Makkah and Madina.

Locals had set up floats along the routes of the processions. Young and old alike were perched on these floats and were reciting naat.

The organisers of the stages also gave away awards such as trophies to the Milad committees for carrying out the biggest and most beautiful processions. Children participating in naat competitions were also given awards.

Further, people had set up stalls to distribute food such as rice and sweets to participants of the processions.
