PML-N reorganisation: ‘PPP following Musharraf’s policies’

Nawaz says another long march could be launched against the petroleum price hike.

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)’s Chief Mian Nawaz Sharif in his meeting with party workers hailing from Karachi division avoided making bellicose remarks against the MQM but spoke out much more forcefully against the alleged bogus cases being instituted against innocent Baloch nationals. He said that this should stop immediately.

This was the last in a series of eight consultative meetings that Nawaz Sharif held with party workers from across Pakistan including Gilgit-Balistan but not Azad Kashmir.

The most ominous signal sent out by the chief of the PML-N was the hint of another long march to protest the policies of the PPP-led government. While he did not give any date for the march, he demanded the government immediately withdraw the latest increase in petroleum prices.

The last meeting included workers from Karachi division, Larkana, Kashmore, Shikarpur, Quetta, Gwadar, Turbet, Kalat, Dera Bugti, Punjgore, Lasbella and Qila Saif at Model Town.

He urged the party workers from Karachi to co-exist with the party workers of MQM. But he went on to say that the PML-N would continue to demand a judicial inquiry into the incident of May 12 2007.

Criticising the provincial government of Sindh for failing to ensure peace in Karachi, he said that arrested target killers should be punished. He called for national unity.

He said that Sindh was deliberately kept backward but his party would eliminate the miseries of Sindhi people. He said that PPP never fulfilled its written contract with PML-N and that it was still following the policies of Musharraf.

Speaking about Balochistan he said that innocent Baloch have been labelled traitors and cases framed against them. He said that PML-N believes that Baloch have the first right on their resources. He said that PML-N would address all grievances of the Baloch.

Former Sindh Chief Minister Syed Ghous Ali Shah also spoke and condemned the resolution passed by the Sindh Assembly against the Punjab Government and termed it an effort to divert attention from the serious problems being faced by the people of Sindh.

Ayesha | 13 years ago | Reply Slogan of PML(N) 2007:Musharraf 2008:Musharraf 2009:Musharraf 2010:Musharraf and now its 2011 their slogan is still Musharraf. Mian Sahab Musharraf had gone, Musharraf is not an issue of Pakistani people, poverty is the main issue , do something for the poor and middle class masses of Pakistan.

Mirza | 13 years ago | Reply Can PMLN leadership be compared with Musharraf? Musharraf era was much much better than the era of these thugs. Mushrraf is not hypocrite; rather he is sincere, honest and brave to admit his mistakes. I hope that people of Pakistan have now seen true faces of PMLN, who have never won without establishment support. Now they are entirly banking on the judiciary. I am sure the people are now awake and Inshallah in the next election they will clean up the country from the extremists and their supporters.

They know if next election going to held under Pakistan Peoples Party government then they have no chance to win, because they will not have full support from establishment. PML-N can not make any progress to get popular support in Sind, Blochistan and Pukhtunkhawah until PPP is in power. Most Media and judiciary is anti PPP and Noon league want to take full advantage of this thing to weaken PPP government and PPP, to make progress for their future politic. Military establishment make it clear to Muslim League Nawaz that there will be no future role for Nawaz Sharif, Nawaz Sharif is blacklisted because of his past attitude. N-League is disappointed from military establishment and now want to use judiciary, media, MQM and other anti PPP forces to destabilize PPP government and intimidate military establishment to make future deal for Nawaz Sharif.

You have PML-N complaining about the rise in petrol prices, the government CANNOT keep up the subsidy, instead of attacking things like that lets look at the palatial mansion that these guys and other members of the government live in while we foot the bill...how about making cut backs there??? ofcourse not cause that would mean these guys actually cutting back on their "entertainment" its sad and honestly all of these guys are just as bad as the other. i wont be surprised if they all meet behind closed door and laugh and how much they are screwing our country

That would have been better for all of us including folks of Gowalmandi. Has anyone seen that heinous Sher (Lion) in Model Town opposite his house? I nearly threw-up in disgust at his looney peccadilloes.

Shahryar Ahmed | 13 years ago | Reply Unfortunately for Nawaz Sharif, the policies of the previous government were actually good for the country; it showed in the country GDP Growth, Poverty Alleviation, Per capita Income Growth numbers etc.... Now coming back to policies, why don’t we ask, who's policy the elder Nawaz was & usually follows, ofcourse his patron-in-chief, mentor & father figure in who’s era he & his family business nourished, none other than our favorite & true dictator "Zia-Ul-Haq". All Hail Democratic Leader Nawaz Sharif............
