‘PPP’s four demands will strengthen democracy’

SUKKUR: Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has urged the federal government to accept the Pakistan Peoples Party's (PPP) four demands which are aimed at strengthening the Constitution and democracy. Talking to the media in Garhi Khuda Bux on Sunday, he warned the federal government of protests and a long march if the demands are not accepted by December 27.

"The party's chairperson, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, will address the rally on the occasion of the ninth death anniversary of Benazir Bhutto on December 27," he said.

As far as the return of PPP co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari is concerned, the party's central executive committee will make a decision in this regard, he added.

Ruling out any change in the Sindh cabinet, Shah said, "It is not in the cards, but this is not a big deal, changes can made any time".

Expressing his satisfaction over the law and order in the province, he said, "Due to coordinated efforts of law enforcers the situation is getting better". Talking about the security measures during the Eid Miladun Nabi, the CM hoped that it would pass peacefully like Ashura.
