While speaking to the participants, Institute Chairperson Dr Farah Riaz said, “Pakistan comprises of 50% women and their empowerment is prerequisite to compete with the rest of the world.”
She added, “It is the need of hour to ensure their participation in economic activities and to fight taboos being created in the name of gender discrimination.”

She said a hostel for 1,000 female students had been established and another hostel for thousand women will be established with the help of federal government.
Meanwhile, Dr Izhar Ahmad Khan said the UAF was taking all-out efforts to promote cycling in women and such initiatives would pave the way for development.
