100-day campaign: Garbage backlog to be cleared on priority basis

In the first phase of Karachi mayor Wasim Akhtar’s 100-day cleanliness campaign, it has been decided that the garbage in the backlog will be cleaned on a priority basis and then, gradually, the daily cleaning process will be improved.
A meeting was held at the Karachi commissioner’s office on Thursday regarding the situation of garbage collection in the city.
According to a press statement issued by the commissioner’s office, it has been decided that once the backlog is cleared, the garbage dumping spots in the city will be eliminated and shifted to areas where the citizens will not face problems. For this purpose, the advice of the district administration will be sought.
