Awareness walk: Voters can change country’s destiny, says Sialkot EC
The event aimed at highlighting importance of vote
SIALKOT:
Voters could change the destiny of the nation and the country by using their right to vote.
This was said by Sialkot Election Commissioner Maqbool Elahi while addressing the participants of an awareness walk on Wednesday.
The walk was arranged by Election Commission of Pakistan on the eve of National Voters Day.
A large number of people, including students and teachers of local colleges, senior educationists, traders, exporters, senior journalists and NGOs participated in the event.
The walk began from Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry Building and ended at district courts after passing through several main inter-city roads.
The participants were carrying awareness-raising banners and placards. Earlier, the ECP held an awareness seminar which was held at the SCCI Auditorium.
While addressing the participants, Maqbool Elahi highlighted the importance of power of vote and voters, besides describing the ECP’s effective measures to ensure the integrity of the voters.
District Officer (Colleges) Rana Suhaib Anwar, Senior Vice-Chairman Sialkot Press Club Abid Hussain Mehdi, human rights activist Mirza Abdul Shakur, NGOs Network president Ashfaq Nazar Ghuman, Government Nawaz Sharif Girls Degree College Principal Talat Imtnan Cheema and a large number of male and female students also attended the seminar.
