Earnings: Railway ministry says revenue up to Rs36.5b

Pakistan Railway has arranged this workshop with collaboration of the Asian Development Bank

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Railways Khwaja Saad Rafique Wednesday said that revenue of the state-owned entity has increased to Rs36.5 billion from Rs18 billion during the tenure of the current government.

Speaking during a workshop for the formation of Pakistan Railway Strategic Plan (PRSP), the minister said that the government will likely achieve the target revenue of Rs40 billion during the current fiscal year.

He said the Pakistan Railway has arranged this workshop with collaboration of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) regarding its strategic plan. He said keeping in view the performance of Pakistan Railways during the last three and half years, ADB has offered the government a hefty investment in this sector.
