SUKKUR: The Shikarpur police arrested four terrorists belonging to banned outfits during a raid in the Qazi Pati village within the limits of the Khanpur police station on Wednesday.

The arrested men were identified as Qari Sanaullah, Riaz Brohi, Rasheed Brohi and Muneer Brohi, said Khanpur SHO Ayub Dogar, while briefing the media on Wednesday. The raid was conducted on a tip-off, during which arms and ammunition were also recovered from the possession of the men. Sanaullah was the mastermind of the Jacobabad bomb blast in 2015, in which a mourning procession was targeted, said Dogar, adding that he [Sanaullah] had plotted the bomb blast and brought the suicide bomber from Quetta.

Riaz provided lodging and boarding facilities to the suicide bomber while Rasheed was involved in attacking NATO oil tankers in Shikarpur and he provided financial support to the attackers, said Dogar, adding that Muneer was affiliated with the Hafeez Pandrani group and has been involved in terrorist activities for the last seven to eight years.  A case was registered against them and further investigation is underway, the SHO added.
