After split: Djokovic’s work-rate dropped, says Becker

World number two Novak Djokovic confirmed on Tuesday he has split from his coach Boris Becker after three years working together.
“Boris Becker and I have jointly decided to end our cooperation,” Djokovic wrote on his official Facebook page.
The Serb has won 12 Grand Slam titles in his career, including six while working with Germany’s Becker.

“The goals we set have been completely fulfilled, and I want to thank him for the cooperation, teamwork, dedication and commitment,” said the 29-year-old Djokovic.
Following the confirmation of split, Becker said that Djokovic lost his momentum in the second half of last season and was toppled as the world number one by Andy Murray because his work-rate dropped.

“He didn’t spend as much time on the practice court in the last six months as he should have and he knows that,” said Becker.
